Volunteer Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities

The Volunteer Coordinator will supervise the development and participation of the volunteers through the following means:
*Coordination of recruitment-
Supervising any recruitment staff (paid and/or volunteer)-
(mostly in the fall and January) create and distribute general and targeted recruitment posters.-
Recruit through class and departmental means on both campuses-
When possible, recruit in the community.-
Coordinate orientation meetings to introduce station departments to interested persons.
*Management of materials for use by members, including the "handbook" policy material, guidance literature, etc.-
Ensure volunteer and paid staff create and submit materials for handbook and other literature. -
Compile and prepare handbook and other material for publication.
The Volunteer Coordinator will manage Fund Raising initiatives by volunteers through the following means:
*Individual planning and goal setting.
*Regular member check-in sessions.
*Providing materials such as pledge sheets.
*Maintaining goal lists.
The Volunteer Coordinator will assist in the coordination of members complaints, disagreements, and discipline.
*Ensure the provision of materials on safe work environment including the membership policy.
*Ensure contact information for more than one avenue of complaint is provided to each member.
*Assist in the fair, confidential management of complaints according to station policy.
*Assist in the implementation of discipline or station changes required as a result of a compliant procedure.
The Volunteer Coordinator will work with other staff members and volunteers from various departments to assure that the elements required for the volunteers are available and the participants informed and trained.
*As needed, when possible, assist in the training of various departments-
Train members in department tasks-
Prepare pathway pamphlets for various departments
The Volunteer Coordinator will assist in the area of broadcast management under the following areas:
*Training-
Provide Initial house rules and orientation training.-
Provide Log sheet and CRTC reg training-
Possibly provide "responsibility vs. Blame" training-
Possibly provide basic operator training
*Checking compliance of programmers through the monitoring of broadcast, recordings, and audio logs on a daily basis.
*Checking for programmer compliance in the recording of Program Logs on a bi-weekly basis.
*Preparing notes, and/or scheduling meetings with programmers for retraining.
*Management of broadcast audit projects (SOCAN, etc.)-
Preparing posters and signs, example sheets and envelopes. Ensuring sufficient log sheets.-
Checking compliance and legibility on a daily basis.-
Copying sheets.-
Mailing sheets.
The Volunteer Coordinator will assist in performing the following in the area of Studio Management:
*Check general studio condition on a daily basis
*Reset studio to optimal conditions
*Investigate abuse/misuse and retrain or discipline users.
*Establish and maintain usage schedule for all studios.
*Maintain a security list of trained users.
*Assist in the maintenance management of studio equipment (with other staff, as needed)

The Volunteer Coordinator will perform the following in the area of administration assistance:
*Enter payables and receivables through the station's accounting software on a weekly basis.
*Label the payables and their appropriate accounts for reporting to the Station Manager.
*Produce cheques for vendors.
*Produce bills on a weekly basis and statements for clients on a monthly basis.
*Mail bills, cheques and statements as required.
*Copy and file payables.
