Spoken Word Coordinator:
The Spoken Word Coordinator acts as a liaison between spoken word programmers
and the Executive Committee, and thus is responsible to ensure that any concerns
or questions they might have are brought before the Executive. As well, She/He
coordinates special focus-day programming (Prisoner's Justice Day, Dec. 6Th
Memorial day etc.), and is in charge of maintaining the PSA Binder for MCR.
The Spoken Word Coordinator also has a seat on the Programming Committee, and
attends their regular meetings.
All of the positions on the Executive Committee have a few requirements in common. You must be available to attend regular weekly meetings of the Executive Committee, prepare weekly reports on what's going on in your department, and vote on the various station issues that come up at meetings. As well, you're required to attend General Membership Meetings. In essence, you'll be working in conjunction with the Staff and the Board of Directors in the running of our station. In order to run for a position on the Executive, you must have been a member of CHSR for at least 3 months, and have paid you membership fee for the current year.
